Below is a copy of the email that went out to all Guild members tonihgt that we have emails for:
Hello Everyone!
I hope you have all had a great summer and are still finding time to knit and crochet! The Guild is busy and we have a lot going on. As always, please keep in touch with the Guild blog at http://www.deputyknittersblog.blogspot.com/ for all of the up to the minute information.
Our recent meeting was well attended and we have now set a schedule of meetings for the balance of the year. If any one has any ideas for the Christmas party as far as location, food etc, please let one of the officers know. A HUGE thank you to Lucille for an incredible and chock full hand out of knitting and crocheting happenings – websites and patterns etc. at the meeting!!!! I spoke to Lucille today and we will now have a small area with folders for all of the Guild information (ie: handouts from previous meetings, officer information – schedules, trip sign ups etc). It will be available at the shop for your convenience to insure you miss none of the fun! Lucille also gave a GREAT talk about Fall 2006 Trends and Fashions in regards to knit and crochet wear and colors – That was awesome Lucille! In addition she gave a wonderful hands on demonstration on cables! FANTASTIC JOB – Lucille – Thank you !!!!
The minutes are listed below as well as a sign up sheet for the NYC Knit out. If interested please get money to Kristin or myself as soon as possible. I am trying to coordinate a trip to Habu Textiles while we are there and I know Lucille is trying to arrange a trip to Parsons. We will keep you informed of our efforts. We are looking to leave a little later from the City to allow us to have dinner in the City. We will inform you as soon as we receive confirmation of the time for departure. We MUST travel together as a group to qulify for the discounted rate so if you are interested in coming but the times do not work out for you – please make separate arrangements and as always, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
Lastly a BIG Thank you to Kim P. for working on a new logo for us! I have attached the three choices and I am hoping that you will be able to open the attachment and give your vote. Kim was working on making the center one (with the sheep) have the Knit Happens be written with the sheep’s wool – that’s the only anticipated change. If you are unable to open the attachment – please stop down at Lula’s and take a peek. She will have the logos as well as the sheet for you to register your vote. IF you have a different idea, please let us know and Kim will try to work it up.
I wish all of you a great Labor Day weekend and I hope to see you soon!

Unfortunately, she is unable to knit anymore and she and her husband would like to donate all of her yarn to our guild. She has a very large amount of yarn, mostly for babies. The guild would like to send a special thank you to Helen and her husband and will let them know of how we use the yarn for our community projects.
Tammy would be willing to teach a class on how to make a vest using size 50 needles. Tammy has completed her vest and everyone loves it!! If you are interested please let her know.
Lula talked about cabling and the different ways you can achieve the cable knit. She had a few examples to look at showing two different techniques.
